USDA Rural Development is committed to the future of rural communities. Nationwide, our Community Programs invested $1.2 billion in rural communities.  Of the $1.2 billion in the loan portfolio, 33 percent was invested in rural health care, 12 percent in public services, 27 percent in public safety, nine percent in cultural and educational facilities, and four percent in transportation services.
