The information that follows details the accomplishments in all RBS
Programs in Georgia for Fiscal Year '99.
Direct B&I Loans - $2,073,0002 loans were made during the year. 92 jobs were created while 162 existing jobs were saved.Guaranteed B&I Loans - $55,246,541 1,055 jobs were saved while 454 more were created with the 18 loans
made this year.
Rural Business Enterprise Grants - $1,095,782 69 rural businesses were assisted with these funds. 306 new jobs
were created with another 137 being saved.
Rural Economic Development Grants - $330,000 This grant established a revolving loan fund to assist Miller County
with the construction of a critically needed emergency care facility at
the hospital.
Intermediary Relending Program - $500,000 One loan was made this year. 11 existing IRP accounts have created
and/or saved 2,944 jobs under this program.
Appalachian Regional Commission Grants - $199,415 2 projects were administered under Business Programs this year.
73 new jobs were created.
Community Adjustment and Investment Program - $16,148,200 Georgia ranks second nationally in the amount of loans made with this
program. The loan figure is reflected in the total for the G-B&I
program. 643 jobs were created in the most distressed/rural counties
of Georgia .
Total Funds Provided - $59,444,738 Total Jobs Saved or Created
