Description:
Grants can be made to repair or rehabilitate individual housing or rental properties owned and or occupied by very-low and low
income rural persons.
Grant Purposes:
Repair and rehabilitation activities to remove health and safety hazards for the well-being of the occupants, or make major
repairs needed to improve the general living environment of the
homeowner or tenant.
Who Is Eligible?
Grants are made to a public body or a public or private non-profit corporation. This organization then provides
grants/loans to eligible very-low and low income homeowners and rental property owners with very-low and low income tenants.
FY 2003 Allocation
Funds for FY 03 have not been announced at this time. The National allocation of funds for FY 2002
was $7,982,000. No grantee can receive more than 50% of the annual allocation. The applications deadline for FY '02 was May 28, 2002.
Where Do You Apply?
A Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA) is announced each year in the Federal Register. Applications may be obtained by calling
the Multi-Family Housing Division in the Georgia State Office at 706-546-2164. Applications for 2002 funding can be obtained
