INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF RURAL HOUSING APPLICATIONS

The length of time it takes the USDA, Rural Development to process your application depends, in part on how accurately and completely the application and attached forms are completed.

The Community Development Manager will take several factors into consideration when determining your eligibility for our services.  Some of these factors include your Credit History, Total Income, Income Eligibility, and Repayment Ability.

You may need to provide additional information along with your application and the attached forms.  ALL INCOME AVAILABLE TO THE HOUSEHOLD MUST BE REPORTED AND VERIFIED IN WRITING.  This includes, but is not limited to, Social Security (SS), Social Supplemental Income (SSI), Veterans Benefits (VA), Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC), Child Support, Alimony, Disability Income,  Full and/or Part Time Employment Income, and  Self-Employment Income.  Income verifications will be submitted to the listed agency and/or income source and must be returned directly to our office by that source.

In divorce cases, a copy of the final divorce papers and decree are required to be submitted with the application.    Information pertaining to income from child support, alimony, etc. that is contrary to the divorce decree must be verified in writing.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED AND WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU.

The application Package consist of the following:

I.                   Application (form RD 410-4)

1.                Complete the application in pencil.

2.                Complete all items on the application.

3.                Sign and date in blue or black ink.  You are required to sign and date in two places on the application.  (Page 5 and 7)

II.                 Authorization to Release Information ( Form RD 3550-1)

1.                Only your signature is required.  DO NOT DATE THIS FORM.

2.                All ADULT members of the household are required to complete this form.  Additional forms are available at our office.

III.             Information Sheet.

1.                Complete all items on the sheet.

2.                Sign and date on the bottom of the sheet.

Credit Report Fees:

A credit report fee is required before a final decision is made on any application.  However, this fee may be submitted after a preliminary review of the application is completed.  The fees are as follows:

$28.00 for an Individual (Applicant Only)

$28.00 per person for Applicant/Co-Applicant (other than Married Couples)

$38.00 for a married couple applying jointly.

Please make your cashier's check or money order payable to USDA, Rural Development.  Please do not bring or send cash.
