Program Description: RBS assists rural residents in forming new cooperative businesses and improving the operations of existing cooperatives. Assistance to cooperatives located in rural areas is the primary focus.
Type of Assistance: RBS conducts cooperative related research and promotes a public understanding of cooperatives through education and information dissemination. Technical Assistance is available for new and existing cooperatives for such items as:
Eligibility Requirements: Technical assistance is provided to all cooperatives with emphasis on agricultural marketing, supply, value-added and craft cooperatives.
