Message From Idaho State
Director Thank you for visiting us at the Idaho USDA Rural Development Website. It is an honor to be appointed to lead the great team of Idaho Rural Development employees who work everyday in partnership with federal, state, tribal, and local government officials, as well as the private sector, to make certain our financial resources are invested wisely and have the greatest impact on improving the quality of life in the rural areas of our state. For more than 60 years, USDA Rural Development and its predecessor agencies have been providing essential services to families and communities in rural America. From affordable housing to clean water, from business development to telecommunications services and wastewater systems – rural Idaho communities have counted on Rural Development programs and services to give them the economic boost needed to ensure they have the same opportunities as those in urban areas. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), Rural Development is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in rural communities across Idaho maintaining and creating jobs for Idahoans - and that's in addition to our agency's regular appropriations. We are pleased to be at the forefront of the effort to promote the creation of “green” jobs by assisting small businesses or agriculture producers with energy efficiency improvements or renewable energy projects. We want to thank our private, nonprofit, and government partners who participate with us in projects funded with USDA Rural Development dollars. You are key to us being able to serve our Idaho rural towns and communities, where our collaborative dollars are making a difference by providing thousands of families with housing, repairing and replacing failing sewer and water systems, and investing in local businesses to create jobs and strengthen economic well-being. We are committed to the future of your community. Please look carefully at each of programs to see what we have to offer. When you're ready to learn more, please give us a call by contacting the USDA Rural Development office nearest you, where our friendly staff of experts are ready to assist you. |
