Single Family Housing Program
Our Single
Family Housing Program has two major categories: direct loans
that are made by USDA directly to limited income persons to purchase a modest
home using payment assistance to reduce the payments, and guaranteed loans which
are made by lending institutions but are guaranteed by USDA Rural Development.
Check
out these facts for 2002:
1,155 new Hoosier homeowners using USDA loans
3% first year delinquency rate for USDA direct loans
83% of our housing loans were leveraged with our partners
$76 million in home mortgage financing provided by USDA
Over
200 families improved their homes using USDA loans and grants
National
Homeownership Week was celebrated across the nation in June.
At
this Indiana celebration in Tyner, Marshall County, USDA Rural Development staff
joined homeowners in their yard to recognize the value of homeownership.
