Indiana Single Family Housing Web Site Our Single Family Housing Program has two major categories: direct loans that are made by USDA directly to limited income persons to purchase a modest home using payment assistance to reduce the payments, and guaranteed loans which are made by lending institutions but are guaranteed by USDA Rural Development.

National Homeownership Week was celebrated across the nation in June.
At this Indiana celebration in Gas City, Grant County, USDA Rural Development State Director, Bob White and Indiana Housing Finance Authority Executive Director, Kimberly Wize, joined staff and partners to congratulate a new homeowner.
