Congressman Ryun Reviews Kansas Rural Development Projects

Topeka, KS.   2nd District Congressman Jim Ryun recently toured a wide range of Kansas Rural Development projects in east-central Kansas, with stops in Ottawa, Uniontown, and Ft. Scott.

Projects reviewed by Congressman Ryun included Courthouse Square Apartments in Ottawa, Agricultural Engineering Assoc. of Uniontown, with two stops in Ft. Scott at Congregate Housing Project, Calvary Crossing, and City of Ft. Scott Fire Department.

State Director Banks commented, “The numerous economic development and housing programs available through USDA Rural Development play a vital role in meeting the challenges facing many of our State’s rural citizens.  These programs offered by our Agency provide Kansans the opportunity to create new jobs, along with enhancing their economic prosperity and quality of life.”

“Rural Development’s numerous grant and loan programs help promote more innovation and economic opportunities for rural Kansas.  Creating commerce and jobs in our rural communities is key to the prosperity of the entire State", said Congressman Ryun.
