Holcomb Housing Progress Recognized

By USDA Rural Development

Holcomb, KS. –  USDA Rural Development State Director Chuck Banks announced today that Madison Homes, Inc. of Garden City is being recognized as the Agency’s ‘2003 Outstanding Minority Housing Partner’ for Kansas.  Rural Development made the announcement in conjunction with the Agency’s National Homeownership Month celebrations being held across Kansas this week.

“Madison Homes, Inc. is being honored today as a result of their efforts to improve minority homeownership.  President Bush has set a goal of increasing homeownership in the United States by an additional 5.5 million minority Americans by 2010.  The progress being made in Holcomb can be an example for the rest of Kansas”, State Director Banks commented during this morning’s ceremonies.

Dean Ryun, representing Madison Homes, Inc., accepted the Rural Development award.  “Madison Homes appreciates the opportunity to build homes for the Garden City area.  Madison Homes also enjoys the chance to work with USDA Rural Development to provide these housing opportunities”, remarked Ryun.

Representatives from U.S. Senator Pat Roberts’ Dodge City office also participated in today’s Holcomb ceremony.
