Ethanol Grain Processors,
Inc. Recognized
By USDA Rural Development
Washington, KS – USDA Rural Development State Director Chuck Banks today recognized Ethanol Grain Processors, Inc. for their successful application through the Agency’s Value-Added Agricultural Product Market Development Grant Program. Ethanol Grain Processors, Inc. is slated to receive $17,500.00 to update a feasibility study and develop a business plan for a proposed 30 million gallon Washington County based ethanol plant.
“USDA Rural Development is strongly committed to assist production agriculture in becoming more profitable through value-added business opportunities. This program can provide greater economic returns for Kansas farmers and livestock producers. This program can also help stimulate the creation of new jobs, resulting in improved rural economic prosperity”, commented State Director Banks.
Authorized as part of the 2002 Farm Bill, the Value-Added Agricultural Product Market Development Grant Program which is administered by USDA Rural Development provides an opportunity to refine agricultural commodities and products to increase their value in the marketplace. Funding of individual recipients will be contingent upon meeting the conditions of the grant agreement.
