August 16, 2002 - Chuck Banks, State Director for Kansas USDA Rural Development announced today that Congressman Jim Ryun will tour several of the agency's projects on Friday, August 23rd. Congressman Ryun will review successful housing, health care and industry projects in Brown, Doniphan and Jackson counties.
Congressman Ryun is also scheduled to participate in a town hall meeting in Hiawatha at the Hiawatha Inn, Junction US 36 & 73 Highways, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Mr. Ryun will speak on current Congressional issues and economic development opportunities offered under the 2002 Farm Bill.
Following the town hall meeting, Kansas Rural Development staff will host break out sessions covering both the Rural Housing and Community & Business program areas offered by U.S.D.A..
