Rural Housing Programs

The Single Family Housing Direct Loan Program provides home purchase financing, repairs, and re-financing provisions for lower income families. In Fiscal Year 2010, in addition to the regular annual allocation of funds from Congress, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act appropriations have been added to the program totals. This has increased available financing by over 225% of the previous fiscal year. USDA Rural Development has reorganized staff to deliver the unprecedented amount of funding. Ample funding is anticipated and must be obligated by September 30, 2010.
