CHAMPION COMMUNITIES

 

Purpose:  To encourage those communities that completed strategic plans as part of their request for Empowerment Zone or Enterprise Community status but were not selected to continue to implement and update their plans

Program Type: Technical assistance and priority for many federal and state programs

Eligible Applicants:  Rural communities wishing to address their economic and social problems through the implementation of a strategic plan utilizing partnerships between private and public entities

Authorized Purposes:  Financial and technical assistance resources are used to address economic and social problems through the development and implementation of a strategic plan and through the creation of partnerships between the public and private sectors 

When to Apply:  The opportunity to reapply for Empowerment Zone/Enterprise Community designation is announced periodically in the Federal Register
