Single family home improved with Housing Preservation Grant assistance

 

HOUSING PRESERVATION GRANTS

Purpose:  To improve the quality and condition of the existing housing stock in rural areas

Program Type:  Grant 

Eligible Applicants:  Nonprofit corporations and public bodies

Eligible Areas: Cities and unincorporated areas of 10,000 population or less; in some circumstances cities between 10,000 and 20,000 also qualify (Ineligible Area Maps)

Authorized Purposes:  Funds obtained are leveraged with funds from other sources to establish a program to rehabilitate single or multifamily housing units within a selected geographic area.  

When to Apply:  Application periods are announced annually in the Federal Register through a Notice of Fund Availability (NOFA)
