RURAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY GRANT

Purpose:  To promote sustainable economic development in rural communities with exceptional needs

Program Type:  Grant

Eligible Applicants:  Public bodies, nonprofit corporations, Indian tribes, and rural  cooperatives operating in rural communities which are persistently poor, are experiencing long term population decline and/or job deterioration, or are suffering from natural disasters 

Eligible Areas:  Any area other than a city or town with a population of 50,000 or greater and the urbanized areas contiguous and/or adjacent to such a city or town

Authorized Purposes:  Funds may be used to develop feasibility studies, provide technical assistance, or to facilitate business development and/or economic planning

When to Apply:  Year round
