RURAL COMMUNITY ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM (RCAP)

 

Purpose:  To assist small communities with low per capita incomes develop strategies to spur economic development  

Program Type: Technical assistance and priority for many federal and state programs

Eligible Applicants:  Small rural communities with a low median income

Authorized Purposes:  Financial and technical assistance resources are used to address economic and social problems within the subject community; RCAP provides Rural Development flexibility in more funding among certain programs to allow most critical needs to be met and to assure full utilization of allocations 

When to Apply:  RCAP includes three areas of Rural Development funding: rural community facilities, rural utilities, and rural business and cooperative development; generally, applications can be filed year round for this assistance
