STATE DIRECTOR

KENTUCKY USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT

 

Ø      Born and raised in Knott County, Kentucky and graduated from Alice Lloyd College with an Associate of Arts degree in 1974.

Ø      Began his career with USDA in 1975 as a student trainee while attending Morehead State University.

Ø      Became Assistant County Supervisor in Prestonsburg after graduation from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1976.  Was promoted to County Supervisor in that office in 1979.

Ø      Promoted to Rural Housing Specialist in the Lexington USDA State Office in 1986.

Ø      Received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Achievement in 1989.

Ø      Served as Staff Appraiser for USDA Rural Development from 1992 and Environmental Coordinator from 1996.

Ø      March 12, 2001, was appointed by President George W. Bush as USDA Rural Development State Director for Kentucky.

Ø      He has been a resident of Anderson County, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, since 1987.
