USDA Rural Development is a part of the United States Department of Agriculture.
The Rural Development "mission area" is further broken down into three services; the Rural Housing Service, Rural Utilities Service and the Rural Business-Cooperative Service. These three services and their programs are administered on the state and local level under the umbrella name of USDA Rural Development.
Our agency provides loans and grants for housing, community services, and businesses, as well as central water and sewer systems. You can see specific details on each of these programs in other areas of this web site.
USDA works closely with state governments, non-profit organizations and private sector lenders and other groups to pool resources and provide technical assistance. The agency gets its funding from the U.S. Congress and has offices all across the country.
The "MARYLAND" State Office, located in Dover, Delaware administers USDA Rural Development programs through
five field office sites across the state. Each site is committed to serving those in search of information and assistance with Rural Development programs and initiatives.
