Business Enterprise Grant Program

HOW TO APPLY:

provided over the telephone, and an application will be mailed to you to be completed and
returned to the office; or an appointment will be scheduled.
OBJECTIVE:
Finance and facilitate development of
small and emerging private business in rural areas.
- Rural Areas are populations of less
than 50,000
- Small and Emerging Business has 50 or
fewer employees and projected gross revenues of less than $1 million
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:
The following, given that at least 51% of
membership is U.S. citizens or legally admitted residents
- Public Bodies
- Nonprofit Organizations
- Federally Recognized Indian Tribes
GRANT PURPOSES:
Land Acquisition and Development
Technical assistance (a
problem-solving activity)
Construction, enlargement, or
modernization of fixed assets or infrastructure
Loans for start-up and working
capital
Reasonable fees and charges for
professional services necessary for the project
Training, when necessary with
technical assistance
Revolving loan funds
GRANT PRIORITY:
High unemployment
Low income
Business start-up or expansion
Revolving Loan Funds
Maintaining Creating jobs
Grants of not more than $100,000
Consistent with overall development
plan for the project area
Applicants with experience in
successful rural development
