HOW TO APPLY:
Click here to contact an area office. Basic information will be
provided over the telephone, and an application will be mailed to you to be completed and
returned to the office; or an appointment will be scheduled.
OBJECTIVE:
Reduce the costs of developing water and wastewater
disposal facilities to reasonable levels for users of the systems. Grants may cover up to
75% of eligible project costs.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING GRANTS:
Grants made to nonprofit
organizations to provide assistance and/or training to associations located in rural areas
and to cities and towns with populations of 10,000 or less.
Assistance provided to identify and
evaluate solutions to water and waste disposal problems, improve the operation of existing
water and waste disposal facilities, and to assist associations in preparing applications
for water and waste disposal facilities.
SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT GRANTS:
Grants made to public and private
nonprofit organizations to provide technical assistance and/or training to associations
located in rural areas and to cities and towns with populations of 10,000 or less.
Assistance provided to reduce or
eliminate pollution of water resources, and improve planning and management of solid waste
facilities.
Assistance may also be provided to
enhance operator skills in operations and maintenance, identify threats to water
resources, and reduce the solid water stream.
RURAL WATER CIRCUIT RIDER TECHNICAL
ASSISTANCE:
On-site technical assistance provided
to help ensure cost-effective operation of rural water systems.
Assistance is provided free of cost
and may be requested by officials of rural water systems or by Rural Development
personnel.
