A celebration was held in Gardiner on March 18 to recognize the accomplishments of the City of Gardiner and the partners that assisted in funding the Sewer System Upgrade.

Rural Development was acknowledged for its recent contributions to the City, which totaled over $3.7 million. Rural Development is a familiar partner to the City of Gardiner and has  contributed in excess of $13 million over the years to various projects.

Other partners that were recognized included the Department of Economic and Community Development, the Maine State Housing Authority, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Office of Senator Susan Collins, the Gardiner Rotary, the State Planning Office, and Land for Maine’s Future.

The funds contributed to the sewer plant upgrade and Northwest Quadrant main replacement will benefit the 1,455 residential, commercial, and industrial users in Gardiner, South Gardiner, Farmingdale, and Randolph.
