EAST LANSING, June
22, 2009 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Area
Director Shelly Fuller will present a $66,000 ceremonial grant check to
Alcona County on Friday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Alcona County
Library, 312 W. Main Street, in Harrisville. The money will be used for
library equipment and emergency response vehicles.
USDA Rural
Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support
increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural
residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides
equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth
in homeownership, business development, and critical community and
