USDA ANNOUNCES $66,000 FOR ALCONA COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY

EAST LANSING, June 22, 2009 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Area Director Shelly Fuller will present a $66,000 ceremonial grant check to Alcona County on Friday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Alcona County Library, 312 W. Main Street, in Harrisville.  The money will be used for library equipment and emergency response vehicles.

The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. 

USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents.
