EAST LANSING, Nov. 9, 2011 – U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Rural Development State Director for Michigan James J. Turner today commemorated an open house for Baldwin Family Health Care’s new facility in White Cloud.
“Efficient health care delivery is an important component for community sustainability,” said Turner. “We at Rural Development are proud to partner with Baldwin Family Health Care to improve access to health care for the over 47,000 residents that will be served.”
The agency provided a $1,835,000 direct Community Facilities loan through regular funding and the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration provided a $3 million grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The 27,000 square foot medical facility is designed to provide new services for families with children and patients with chronic diseases. It will provide health care to approximately 47,874 rural residents in the service area.
USDA, through its Rural Development mission area, administers and manages housing, business and community infrastructure and facility programs through a national network of state and local offices.
