USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES $270,000 FOR BAY MILLS

EAST LANSING, March 12, 2009 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Specialist Jim Yoder today presented a $272,350 ceremonial grant check to the Bay Mills Community College in Brimley for transportation and parking improvements.

“U.S.D.A. Rural Development has a great partnership with Bay Mills,” said Yoder.  “This is an investment in the education of the work force of the eastern Upper Peninsula.”

The money will be used to purchase buses and pave parking lots.  The event is the second of two this week to commemorate more than $1 million in loans and grants for area communities.
