USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES $2,269,000 FOR CLARE, GLADWIN COUNTIES

EAST LANSING, March 27, 2008 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will host a series of ceremonies on April 3 commemorating $2,269,000 in grants and loans for communities in Clare and Gladwin counties. 

The events are open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. 

The list below indicates the time, location, recipients and award amount of the presentation. 

Time:  9:30 a.m.          Location: County Commission Chambers, Third Floor, Gladwin County Building, 401 W. Cedar Ave. in Gladwin.
Gladwin County will receive a $45,000 grant for three police vehicles.

Time:  11:00 a.m.        Location: Beaverton City Hall, 124 W. Brown St. in Beaverton.
The City of Beaverton will receive $1,174,000 in loans and grants for a Department of Public Works truck, a four-wheel-drive police vehicle and water system improvements.

Time: 2 p.m.    Location:  Mid Michigan Community Action Agency Building, 1574 E. Washington Rd, in Farwell.
Mid Michigan Community Action Agency will receive $1,050,000 in grants and loans for a new office facility and child care play area.
