of Agriculture Rural Development CLEON TOWNSHIP RECEIVES $225,000 FOR TOWNSHIP HALL, FIRE DEPT. EAST LANSING, May 2, 2008 Area Specialist Paul Bristol today presented a $225,000 ceremonial check for upgrades to the township hall, including expanded facilities for the fire department. This is an investment in public safety, said U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett. USDA Rural Development is helping rural Michigan communities. The money was used to renovate the township hall, including reinforcing the roof against heavy snow accumulation and extensive heating, plumbing and entrance upgrades to the fire department facilities. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
