of Agriculture • Rural Development Contact: Alec Lloyd (517) 324-5204 AUSABLE VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE EAST LANSING, July 16, 2007 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will present a $400,000 ceremonial loan check to Crawford County for its new animal shelter located at 5786 Fairground Lane in Grayling, at its open house on Saturday, July 21 at noon. The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
