USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND FARM SERVICE AGENCY MICHIGAN OFFICE TO HOST ROUNDTABLE ON JOBS, ECONOMIC GROWTH
WHO: USDA Rural Development State Director James J. Turner, USDA Farm Service Agency Director Christine White, business leaders, educators and policy makers. WHAT: USDA Rural Development and Farm Service Agency will host a roundtable/community forum on job creation and economic growth. The roundtable is a follow-up to the Forum on Jobs and Economic Growth that President Obama hosted at the White House on December 3. WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. WHERE: Lansing Community College, West Campus Facility, 5708 Cornerstone Drive in Lansing. WHY: The roundtable will give residents and business owners an opportunity to discuss ways to accelerate job growth in rural America. The President has asked his Cabinet to gather ideas from local communities on ways to grow the economy and put Americans back to work. The ideas collected at these roundtables will be presented to President Obama beginning in January.
