Contact: Alec Lloyd USDA Rural Development Commemorates Earth Day in Buena Vista Township EAST LANSING, April 14, 2011 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan James Turner today announced a ceremony commemorating Earth Day and Phase II of Buena Vista’s sewer system at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 22 at the township hall located at 1160 South Outer Drive, in Saginaw. Turner will be joined by Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Agriculture Doug O’Brien. The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA, through its Rural Development mission area, administers and manages more than 40 housing, business and community infrastructure and facility programs through a network of 6,100 employees located in Washington, D.C, and 500 state and local offices. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural America.
