EAST JORDAN RECEIVES $130,000 FOR AMBULANCE EAST LANSING, March 26, 2009 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Traverse City Area Office Director Shelly Fuller today presented a $130,000 ceremonial loan and grant check to the City of East Jordan for a new ambulance. “USDA Rural Development is proud to work with East Jordan to improve public safety for rural Michigan residents,” said Fuller. The vehicle will replace a high-mileage model from 1996 that is becoming too costly to maintain. The new ambulance will serve as the primary unit in the fleet and will serve more than 2,500 rural residents. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
