Contact: Alec Lloyd USDA Announces $11,000 for Evart Police Vehicle EAST LANSING, June 11, 2012 U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Rural Development State Director for Michigan James J. Turner today announced a ceremony to commemorate the purchase of a police vehicle for the City of Evart on Wednesday, June 13, at10 a.m. at City Hall, 200 S. Main St., in Evart. The agency provided an $11,000 Community Facilities grant to fund the project. The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA Rural Development State Director for Michigan James J. Turner was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009. USDA, through its Rural Development mission area, administers and manages housing, business and community infrastructure and facility programs through a national network of state and local offices. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural America. Rural Development has an existing portfolio of more than $165 billion in loans and loan guarantees.
