EVART RECEIVES $19,000 FOR POLICE VEHICLE FROM USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT EAST LANSING, Jan. 6, 2010 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan James J. Turner today presented a $19,000 ceremonial grant check to the City of Evart for a police vehicle. “USDA Rural Development is proud to help improve public safety for Evart residents,” said Turner. “This is another example of how we are investing in rural Michigan’s quality of life.” The total cost of the vehicle is $29,600. It will serve 1,738 rural residents. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
