GOGEBIC COUNTY RECEIVES GRANT FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES

LANSING, March 13, 2007 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett today presented a ceremonial grant check for $37,000 to Gogebic County to help purchase two Ford Explorer 4x4 police vehicles.

“USDA Rural Development is proud to help improve public safety in Gogebic County,” said DeRossett.  “I am pleased we can help rural residents enhance their quality of life through better police protection.”

The event is part of a series of ceremonies commemorating more than $1.6 million in grants and loans for communities across the Upper Peninsula.
