of Agriculture Rural Development HUDSON TOWNSHIP RECEIVES TWO FIRE TRUCKS FROM USDA EAST LANSING, Aug. 23, 2008 U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett today presented a $360,000 ceremonial check for two fire trucks to Hudson Township. These vehicles will enhance public safety and improve the quality of life for Hudson Township residents, DeRossett said. USDA Rural Development is proud to make this investment in rural Michigan. The money consists of a $320,000 loan and $40,000 grant. The vehicles are a 1,250-gallon CFS pumper and a 2,000-gallon tanker and were showcased at the ceremony. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
