L’ANSE RECEIVES $625,000 FOR WATER MAIN

 LANSING, Dec. 15 2006 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett today presented a ceremonial check for $625,000 to the L’Anse Township for a water transmission main and booster facility. 

 “This is an investment in the future of L’Anse Township,” said DeRossett.  “I am pleased USDA Rural Development could help make these needed improvements possible.”

 The funds consist of $209,000 in loans and $416,000 in grants.  The event is part of a series of ceremonies commemorating more than $2 million in grants and loans for communities across the Upper Peninsula.
