of Agriculture • Rural Development Contact: Alec Lloyd (517) 324-5204 USDA ANNOUNCES $1.9 MILLION FOR MANCELONA AREA WATER AND SEWER PROJECT EAST LANSING, Sept. 21, 2007 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will present a ceremonial check for $1,986,000 in grants and loans to the Mancelona Area Water and Sewer Authority on Friday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Family Resource Center, 205 Grove St. in Mancelona. The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
