USDA ANNOUNCES $75,245 FOR MISSAUKEE CONSERVATION DISTRICT EAST LANSING, Jan. 7, 2009 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will present a $75,245 ceremonial grant check to the Missaukee Conservation District to provide technical assistance on a solid waste management project at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the recycling building adjacent to the Missaukee County building located at 6180 W. Sanborn Rd. in Lake City. The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
