OSCEOLA COUNTY RECEIVES $21,000 IN ARRA FUNDING FROM USDA FOR POLICE VEHICLES

 EAST LANSING, Feb. 2, 2010 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan James J. Turner today commemorated the award of $21,000 to Osceola County for police vehicles.

“USDA Rural Development is proud to help enhance public safety,” said Turner.  “This investment will pay dividends for years to come.”

The money will help purchase three police vehicles and was made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  They will serve 23,197 rural residents.

USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
