RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP RECEIVES POLICE VEHICLE, GENERATOR
EAST LANSING, May 25, 2007 USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett today presented a $46,000 ceremonial grant check to Richfield Township to purchase a police vehicle and back-up generator.
Public safety is an essential element of building a good quality of life, DeRossett said. This money will help Richfield Township residents improve their police protection and provide power for emergency services even in the event of a local electrical outage.
The township has used the funds to purchase a Ford Crown Victoria police cruiser and a 42-kilowatt generator with an automatic transfer switch, allowing an uninterrupted flow of power to vital emergency services.
