Public safety is an essential element of building a good quality of life, DeRossett said. This money will help Richfield Township residents improve their police protection and provide power for emergency services even in the event of a local electrical outage. The township has used the funds to purchase a Ford Crown Victoria police cruiser and a 42-kilowatt generator with an automatic transfer switch, allowing an uninterrupted flow of power to vital emergency services. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
