of Agriculture Rural Development SCOTTVILLE RECEIVES $11,000 FROM USDA FOR POLICE VEHICLE EAST LANSING, June 3, 2008 U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett today presented an $11,000 grant check the City of Scottville to help purchase a police vehicle. USDA Rural Development is committed to improving the quality of life for rural Michigan, DeRossett said. This grant will help provide essential police protection for the people of Scottville. The money will be combined with $17,000 in local funds to purchase the vehicle, which will serve 1,266 residents. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
