of Agriculture • Rural Development USDA ANNOUNCES $80,000 FOR BENTON HARBOR AREA SMALL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES EAST LANSING, June 12, 2008 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will present an $80,000 ceremonial grant check to provide new small business opportunities in the Benton Harbor area at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at the Ramada Inn on Arnt Blvd. in Watervliet. The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
