of Agriculture • Rural Development Contact: Alec Lloyd (517) 324-5204 USDA ANNOUNCES $136,000 FOR BANGOR FIRE AND POLICE EAST LANSING, Oct. 3, 2007 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will present two ceremonial checks for enhanced fire and police protection in the Bangor area at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the ABB Joint Fire District at 417 W. Arlington in Bangor. The City of Bangor will receive $14,000 for a new police vehicle and the ABB Joint Fire District will receive $112,000 for two grass fire rig fire trucks and a mobile command vehicle. The event is open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents.
