of Agriculture Rural Development USDA SUPPORTS CLARENDON GLEN APARTMENT REHAB EAST LANSING, Sept. 12, 2008 U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett today presented a $674,482.67 ceremonial loan check at the open house for the newly refurbished Clarendon Glen Apartments in Clare. USDA Rural Development has a strong commitment to quality housing, DeRossett said. This is an investment in better living standards for Clare County residents. Clarendon Glen Apartments is a 24-unit property acquired by TJ Clarendon Glen LP in October 2007. Last year, USDA Rural Development provided more than $24 million in grants, loans and loan guarantee to improve housing for low and very low income rural residents in Michigan. USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
