USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES $634,000 FOR CLARE, ROSCOMMON COUNTIES

EAST LANSING, Oct. 22, 2007 – USDA Rural Development Director for Michigan Gene DeRossett will host a series of ceremonies on Oct. 26th commemorating $634,000 in grants and loans for communities in Clare and Roscommon counties. 

The events are open to the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. 

The list below indicates the time, location, recipients and award amount of the presentation. 

Time:  9:30 a.m.          Location: Farwell Village Hall, 109 Hall St., in Farwell.
The Village of Farwell will receive a $565,000 loan for street replacement featuring improved drainage for the area surrounding the school buildings.

Time:  11:00 a.m.        Location: Harrison City Hall, 229 Beech St., in Harrison.
The Harrison Fire Dept. will receive a $17,000 grant for new fire equipment, including 1,600 feet of fire hose.

Time: 1:30 p.m.           Location:  Richfield Township Hall, 1410 N. M-76 in St. Helen.
Richfield Township will receive $52,000 in grants to purchase a Department of Public Works pickup truck and police vehicle.
