USDA CELEBRATES HIDDEN HOLLOW OPEN HOUSE

EAST LANSING, June 25, 2009 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Multi-Family Housing Director for Michigan Ghulam Sumbal today presented a $1,232,000 ceremonial loan check at the open house for the newly refurbished Hidden Hollow Apartments in Columbiaville.

“USDA Rural Development has a strong commitment to quality housing,” Sumbal said.  “This is an investment in better living standards for Lapeer County residents.”

Hidden Hollow Apartments is a 24-unit property acquired by Hidden Hollow Apartments 2008 LDHA, LLC in 2008.  Last year, USDA Rural Development provided more than $15 million in grants, loans and loan guarantee to improve housing for low and very low income rural residents in Michigan.

USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development provides equity, liquidity, and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure. Further information on rural programs is available at a local USDA Rural Development office or by visiting USDA's web site at http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/.
