Direct
home loans are loans that are directly funded by the Government. These loans are
available for low- and very low-income households to obtain homeownership. Guaranteed
home loans are loans made a traditional lender and guaranteed by the Government.
These loans are available for low and moderate income households to obtain home
ownership. There is no down payment or mortgage insurance required. Low-interest
loans are also available for home repairs. Funding is available to improve or
modernize a home. Repair grants are available to homeowners over the age of 62
to remove health and safety hazards.
