USDA Rural Development’s mission is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for rural residents.  Rural Development fosters growth in homeownership, finances business development and supports the creation of critical community and technology infrastructure.

There are 13 USDA Rural Development field offices located throughout Minnesota that are ready to assist you. From the Minnesota State Office in St. Paul, USDA Rural Development is able to work closely with elected officials, other government agencies and our partners in the mortgage and banking industries.

Below is a summary of USDA Rural Development's investment in Minnesota in 2008.

Housing $303 million
Telecommunications/Electricity $172 million
Community Programs $70 million
Business and Cooperative $51 million
     TOTAL $596 million
