SPICER, Nov. 5 -- Glacial Ridge Winery in Spicer is now officially open for business. The new winery makes wines out of apples and rhubarb and recently was awarded a value-added producer grant from USDA Rural Development. the locally-owned and operated company will use the grant to market its wines. SUNBURG, Oct. 11 -- The city of Sunburg will soon have a new ambulance thanks to a $105,000 loan/grant package from USDA Rural Development. BROWNS VALLEY, Oct. 11 -- The city of Browns Valley was struck by a flood earlier this spring. Because of the damages, the city was unable to purchase an early storm warning system on its own. Thanks to Rural Development's Community Facilities program, the city was able to buy the system. More....
SPICER, Minn., Oct. 10 -- A $135,000 loan from USDA Rural Development will help the city of Spicer expand and updates its library. Once expansion is finished, there will be more room for computers, desk space and for the check out desk. USDA Rural Development is able to finance library updates, hospital expansions, day-care centers, fire halls, ambulances, etc. through its community facilities program. More....
FAIRFAX, Minn., Oct. 10 -- The city of Fairfax celebrated the arrival of a new defibrillator machine today. The new machine will increase the effectiveness of the city's emergency response team.
