533 Housing Preservation Grant Program
This program provides grants to repair and rehabilitate individual and multi-family occupied dwellings by very low and low income households.
Eligibility- Public entities
- Private organizations
- Non-profit organizations
- Tribal Governments
- Located in rural area, population not to exceed 10,000
- 2 years maximum
- Installation or repair of sanitary water and waste systems
- Energy conservation measures including insulation, windows, and doors
- Repair or replacement of heating systems
- Electrical wiring
- Repair of structural supports and foundations
- Repair or replacement of roofs
- Replacement of severely deteriorated siding or porches
- Alterations to provide accessibility for disabled individuals
- Repair of dwellings listed on the National Register of Historic Places
- Repairs to manufactured housing
- Additions to dwellings to alleviate overcrowding or to remove health hazards
